Looking for the different ways to send your availability in Outlook? See how to insert your available times into an Outlook email.
1. Install
- Open the ThreeTimeSlots page in Microsoft's add-in store and click Get it now, signed in with the same work or school account you use in Outlook.
- Restart Outlook. It can take a few minutes for the add-in to appear.
Or, in Outlook: Home → Get Add-ins (or Apps), search for "ThreeTimeSlots", and click Add.
2. Sign in once
- Start a new email. On the Message tab, find the ThreeTimeSlots group. On a narrow window it may be under … or Apps.
- Click Availability settings → Sign in and accept the permission prompt.
- Adjust meeting length, hours and days if you like, then Save settings.
3. Use it
Put your cursor where the times should go, and click Insert 3 times.
4. Unlock after the free trial
- Open Availability settings and click Unlock for US$5, once, or buy here.
- Your licence key arrives by email. Paste it into the settings pane and click Unlock.
Troubleshooting
"First time? Open 'Availability settings' and click Sign in once."
The button can't show a sign-in window by itself. Sign in from the settings pane once; after that the button works in one click.
"Need admin approval" when signing in
Your organisation only lets administrators approve apps. Forward this page to your IT team; they can approve ThreeTimeSlots for you, or for everyone, in the Microsoft Entra admin centre.
I can't install add-ins
Some organisations block add-ins that IT hasn't approved. An administrator can deploy ThreeTimeSlots from the Microsoft 365 admin centre → Settings → Integrated apps, to you only or to a group.
"No free slots found"
Your calendar is full within your search window. In Availability settings, look further ahead, add days, or reduce the gap around meetings.
The times are wrong or overlap a meeting
ThreeTimeSlots uses the free/busy information Microsoft reports for your main calendar. Meetings in other calendars, or "Free" or "Working elsewhere" entries, aren't treated as busy. Tentative meetings count as busy unless you turn that off.
Which Outlook versions work?
Classic Outlook for Windows. [ADD OTHERS ONCE TESTED: new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac.] A Microsoft 365 work or school account is required; personal Outlook.com accounts aren't supported.
Moving to a new computer
Nothing to do: your settings and licence are stored in your mailbox and follow you.
